Wimborne Model Town’s Sensory Garden Project has received a £6000 grant from The Talbot Village Trust to enable the completion of the tactile Courtyard area and Good Life vegetable plot.
The Sensory Garden Project, conceived and led by Model Town stalwart Alan Dean, is designed with a focus on those with sensory impairment but for all to enjoy, and has received input and support from the Dorset Blind Association and The Macular Society.The Sensory Garden has been constructed over the last 18 months with the assistance of volunteer labour and charitable donations.
“This added facility will be of great benefit to many people within the community and I’m sure it will be very popular,” said Christopher Lees, chairman of the Talbot Village Trust. The Trust is pleased to be able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
