The charity wishing well at Haskins Garden Centre, in Longham, will be supporting Dorset-based charity Diverse Abilities Plus for the remainder of 2013 to help reach a fundraising target of nearly half a million pounds.
Diverse Abilities Plus provides a lifetime of invaluable care and support to children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across the county. The charity’s services include a specialist school, respite home, and youth club, play sessions and activities at weekends and school holidays. To support this work the charity must raise nearly half a million pounds in 2013.
Joolz Walford, Customer Service Manager at Haskins Garden Centre, said: “We will be supporting the charity over the coming months by hosting events and fundraising collections to support the important services provided by Diverse Abilities Plus.”
Helen Mortimer, Fundraising Manager for Diverse Abilities Plus, said: “Diverse Abilities Plus has provided support for hundreds of children and adults in Dorset living with physical and learning disabilities for over 50 years. It is wonderful to have the opportunity to work with Haskins to raise awareness of the charity’s vital work and hopefully raise some much needed funds to support projects in the local community. We are most grateful to Haskins for their support and look forward to the coming months.”
