Man dealing drugs in Boscombe is now behind bars
A man caught dealing drugs in Boscombe has been jailed for three years and nine months at Bournemouth Crown Court.
Oltjon Allkufhi, aged 25 from Bournemouth, was sentenced on 28 September after admitting possessing class A drugs with intent to supply and possessing criminal property.
Members of the local neighbourhood policing team were out on patrol on 7 May this year in Boscombe following reports of drug dealing. An officer saw two men involved in what appeared to be a drug deal.
Allkufhi was stopped and detained for a search and officers found a large cling film wrap containing suspected class A drugs in his jacket pocket. They also seized a sock containing four further packages of the white substance, a quantity of cash and two mobile phones. A subsequent search of an address linked to the defendant in Holdenhurst Road uncovered two further large blocks of suspected class A drugs as well as a number of wraps and further quantities of cash.
The suspected drugs were tested and found to be cocaine with the two blocks weighing a total of 770 grams and the large wrap found on the defendant weighing 250 grams. The total street value of the cocaine was estimated at more than £40,000.
More than £2,000 in cash was also seized during the searches.
Detective Constable Marie Greer, of Bournemouth CID, said, “The amount of drugs and cash seized from this defendant and the address indicate he was involved in a significant operation to supply class A drugs in Bournemouth.
“Thanks to the proactive efforts of the neighbourhood policing team we were able to catch him in the act and bring him before the court.
“We are committed to tackling the supply of class A drugs in our communities and would ask anyone with information in relation to drug-related activity to contact us at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101.”
