An investigation has been launched by police officers following the death of a man in Westbourne.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.40am on Sunday 28 September that a man had collapsed in a communal hallway of a premises in Commercial Road.
Officers attended together with the ambulance service and discovered 44-year-old local man, Daniel Sanford, with a serious head injury. He was taken to Southampton Hospital where sadly he died at 7pm.
Detectives are trying to determine exactly what happened and the scene has been cordoned off in order for the forensic investigation to take place.
Detective Inspector Joe Williams, of Bournemouth CID, said: “It is not clear at this time how Daniel sustained his injury so we are trying to determine exactly what happened.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who has knowledge about Daniel’s movements from Saturday morning to when he was found on Sunday morning. I am interested in speaking with anyone who saw him during this time, or anyone who knew him.
“Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to contact the police on 101 as soon as possible.
“All calls are treated with the strictest confidence.”
HM Coroner and next of kin have been informed. No one has been arrested.
