Man jailed for drug offences in Bournemouth
A man who was caught carrying heroin and cocaine after being stopped by officers has been jailed.
Stanley Ainsley, 51 and of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty last year to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and acquiring, using or possessing criminal property but failed to attend court for sentencing.
He handed himself in to officers on Tuesday 21 August 2018 and was taken straight to Bournemouth Crown Court where he was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. He was also handed a two-month concurrent prison term for failing to appear for sentence.
On 14 September 2017, uniformed officers from Bournemouth Central Neighbourhood Policing Team in an unmarked car spotted a white Hyundai being driven on Tregonwell Road in Bournemouth. When the occupants spotted the officers, the driver made an attempt to turn the car around and leave the road.
The officers chased after the car and when they reached it, one opened the driver’s door and removed the keys.
Both the driver and Ainsley, the passenger in the car, were searched.

Ainsley told one officer he had heroin and crack cocaine hidden between his bottom cheeks. Once in custody, officers found a bag hidden on Ainsley that contained 46 wraps of heroin and 50 wraps of cocaine.
A small amount of white powder, believed to be cocaine, was also found in his wallet together with a quantity of cash. The street value of the drugs was estimated to be between £1,000 and £1,500.
When interviewed by officers, Ainsley said he had found the drugs and money in a bush and was keeping it for his own personal use.
PC Stuart Grant, of Bournemouth Central Neighbourhood Policing Team, said, “We recognise the detrimental impact the supply and use of class A drugs has on our community and we are committed to doing all we can to disrupt the activity of dealers such as Ainsley.
“We would always encourage members of the community to report drug-related activity to us so we can act.”
