Man receives broken jaw in Verwood argument
People who witnessed the incident in the Verwood Town Football Club car park at 12.54pm on Saturday 27 July should contact the police.
A man in his 30s received a broken jaw in an altercation that took place in Verwood Town Football Club’s car park in Potterne Way.
Dorset Police received the report of the incident at 12.54pm on Saturday 27 July.
It was reported that the victim had been involved in a verbal dispute with another man, who then proceeded to punch him in the face, causing two fractures to his jaw and damaging his glasses.
Following enquiries, a man in his 30s from West Parley was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and criminal damage. He has been released under investigation as officers carry out further enquiries.
Sergeant Ben Turner, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“I would also like to appeal to any motorists with dashcam footage who were in the car park around the relevant time to please check their footage to see if they have captured anything to assist our enquiries.”
