Detectives investigating the death of Bournemouth woman Julie Cook have charged a man with manslaughter.
Daniel Bragg, aged 36, of Bournemouth appeared before Bournemouth Magistrates’ Court on 6 May and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court later today, 9 May.
Officers were called at 12.53am on 3 May by staff at Poole Hospital to reports that a woman was found with serious head injuries shortly after 8pm on Monday 2 May at an address in Clarence Park Road in Pokesdown.
Sadly, Julie Cook, 44, died on 4 May as a result of her injuries.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Neil Phillips, of Dorset Police’s MCIT, said: “Detectives continue to work on this investigation and I would appeal to any witnesses who are yet to speak with police, to contact us urgently.
“As part of my investigation, I am trying to establish Julie’s movements in the hours before she was found seriously injured.
“We know that she was on the London Waterloo to Weymouth train on the afternoon of Monday 2 May. She left the train with a man at 3.37pm at Pokesdown railway station and the pair arrived at an address in Clarence Park Road sometime between 4pm and 4.30pm.
“I have released these details in the hope that someone may have seen the victim and a man travelling on the train, getting off at Pokesdown station or walking toward Clarence Park Road.”
