Mayor of Ferndown’s charity quiz raises nearly £3,000
In March, a charity quiz night in Ferndown raised a total of £2,772.50 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.

The mayor of Ferndown’s charity quiz night on Thursday 27 March raised a grand total of £2,772.50.
Tickets to the quiz night hosted in The Barrington Centre were sold out. Proceeds from the quiz were donated to the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF) – a charity that offers support and grants to young people chasing their dreams.
As well as the quiz, which saw teams of up to six going head-to-head in tests of knowledge, there was a raffle and tickets included a fish & chips supper.
As well as through ticket sales, money was raised by sponsorship from local businesses. This website’s publisher Pulford Publicity sponsored one of the tables at the event, and table sponsorship raised a total of £500.
The Mayor of Ferndown, Cllr Terry Cordery, said: “The evening was a fantastic success, bringing together local businesses, organisations and residents for a fun and engaging event.
“It is only through the generosity of supporters that we can continue to organise such events and raise valuable funds for our community initiatives.”
