People in Christchurch and East Dorset have the chance to win an iPad Air by sending a message in a plastic bottle pledging to recycle more in 2014.
To enter the Dorset Waste Partnership’s ‘Plastic Pledge’ competition, residents simply need to write their name, address and contact details on a slip of paper, pop it inside a plastic bottle and put the bottle in with the rest of their recycling for collection.
Winning entries will be picked out at the DWP’s recycling sorting facility and entered into a draw. One lucky winner will receive a slim-line iPad Air tablet computer, while four runners-up will each receive £50 in shopping vouchers.
Cllr Hilary Cox, Chair of the DWP Joint Committee, said: “The Plastic Pledge competition aims to remind residents how much can be recycled using their ‘recycle for Dorset’ collection service, which includes plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays.
“It’s a chance for residents who have done such a brilliant job helping boost the recycling rate in Christchurch and East Dorset to more than 60 per cent to get something back for their efforts.”
Entering could not be easier. Just write your name, address and phone number or email address on a piece of paper, pop it inside a see-through plastic (not glass) bottle and put the bottle in your recycling bin with a green lid. If you do not have wheelie bins, put it in your box for general recycling.
