Mia Dellicompagni and Amy Sultan of Francesco Group named as finalists for hairdressing awards
Francesco Group’s hairdressers Mia Dellicompagni and Amy Sultan just announced as finalists at Hairdresser’s Journal’s British Hairdressing Awards 2017.
Now in its fourth decade, the British Hairdressing Awards hosted by Hairdressers Journal International has been supported since its inception by Schwarzkopf Professional.
Today, a British Hairdressing Award is a coveted prize in this multi-million pound industry, with more than 40,000 salon businesses. To be a finalist is quite something; it takes a standout salon, a phenomenal creative talent and commitment to reach these final stages, the top hairdressers for 2017 have been named and Mia Dellicompagni from the Francesco Group’s Poole Academy and and Amy Sultan of their Ringwood salon are finalists for Wales & South West Hairdresser of the Year 2017.
The overall winner for this hotly contested category will be announced at a prestigious ceremony on 27 November at the Grosvenor House Hotel, a JW Marriott Hotel in London’s Park Lane.
So, how did they do it? This iconic competition requires hairdressing professionals and artistic teams from across the country to create a photographic collection, initially of four images that showcase their creativity and technical ability. These collections are displayed in a gallery for judging by more than 50 of the industry’s greatest hairdressers, all of who are experts in their field.
Hairdressers Journal International’s executive director, Jayne Lewis Orr, said, “The awards remain true to the original objective – to promote the professionalism and leading vision of British hairdressing, and importantly to celebrate its contribution to the wider world. I am so proud that we can see the impact that the awards have had, not only our own industry, but also upon partnership industries of model agencies, photographers, clothes stylists and make-up artists and the success is shared by many.
“This year more than ever, we encouraged entrants to produce work that’s aspirational and wearable, to really unify the bonds between creative hairdressing and the fact that this industry contributes £7bn to the national economy and employs 500,000 nationwide. Now that’s something amazing to celebrate.”
Mia Dellicompagni of Francesco Group commented, “To be a finalist is an amazing feeling – to be considered amongst the best in the industry is incredible. We are in love with our pictures that represent the creative and colouring work that we do, day in and day out with our amazing clients.”
