MP makes lavender bag for PM
Members of a Dementia-friendly allotment project welcomed MP Michael Tomlinson when he visited them recently.
Members of the ‘Step Outside’ allotment project welcomed the Mid Dorset & Poole MP, Michael Tomlinson, when he visited them recently at Kingston Lacy.
Wimborne Dementia Friendly Community set up the project in March 2016 and it is facilitated by the Alzheimer’s Society.
Sarah Rampton, Alzheimer’s facilitator said, “We really appreciate that Michael took the time out to come and be with us and that he joined in with the making of lavender bags, from our very own lavender of course!’ He made one each for his daughters, plus one apparently for Theresa May, and enjoyed chatting to the allotmenteers and volunteers. Michael was also presented with some home grown vegetables.
The project, which is for people living with dementia and their carers, carries on through the winter with coffee and cake meetings to plan for the next season.
