Local Waggy Tails supporter, Paul Chapman, is raising funds for Milo, a corgi cross who has paralysis in both hind legs. Paul hopes to raise enough funds to get Milo a little cart that will help him gain more independence.
Milo came to Waggy Tails Rescue from the dog pound and is thought to be about six. Sadly, as with many long bodied breeds, he suffered a ruptured disc, which has paralysed his back legs. Luckily, he isn’t in pain. In fact Milo still gets himself around and is a happy, cheeky, playful boy.
To help with his condition, he has weekly physio and hydrotherapy, but there is no quick fix and ongoing treatment is expensive. Waggy Tails is appealing for help to continue funding the treatment and to get him a made-to-measure cart.
Paul, who has already raised thousands for Waggy Tails, will be walking 22 miles from Church Knowle to the Waggy Tails animal sanctuary in Magna Road, Canford Magna on 7 December.
His fundraising efforts will start early in the morning when he heads from Church Knowle to Corfe Castle before walking along the country roads to Swanage and Studland. He will cross on the ferry to Sandbanks before carrying on to Poole, up Ringwood Road to Newtown, Alderney and West Howe towards the Bear Cross Pub. Here Paul will turn into Magna Road and reach the Waggy Tails sanctuary by late afternoon.
