There were mixed fortunes for Wimborne Town last week as they beat Swindon Supermarine on home turf at Cuthbury in midweek, but suffered defeat in their trip to Mangotsfield United on Saturday.
Looking to build on their victory over league leaders Merthyr Town the previous Saturday, the Magpies left it late to grab the points against Supermarine. The 1-0 victory was not secured until the dying moments when second half substitute Matt Kemble’s long range effort crashed into the net off the underside of the cross bar.
Hopes were high in for the trip to Mangotsfield, but this time round Wimborne were to be 1-0 losers, the deciding goal coming late in the first half. Just before the end of the game there was more woe for Wimborne as Jamie Davidson was controversially sent off.
This Tuesday (March 4) the Magpies travel to Tiverton Town, and then on Saturday they are back at Cuthbury where they host North Leigh.
The following Wednesday (March 12) Wimborne take to the road again to face Guildford City.
