Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital following Holes Bay collision
Anyone who has dashcam footage or witnessed this collision on Thursday 26 August should contact Dorset Police.
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision at the Holes Bay Roundabout on Thursday 26 August.
Officers attended, along with the fire and ambulance services, following a report at 8.17pm of the collision between a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a blue DAF lorry
The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. His family has been informed.
Inspector Craig Tatton, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation to establish the circumstances of this collision and I would urge any witnesses to the incident, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, to please come forward if you have not already spoken to us.
“I would also ask that anyone who was driving in the area and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle please checks their footage for anything of relevance.
“Finally, I appreciate this incident led to the closure of a main route through Poole for some time. I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place. These were absolutely necessary to allow the emergency services to respond to the incident and for a detailed examination of the collision scene to be carried out.”
