A man has been arrested and following the death of a woman in the centre of Bournemouth.
Dorset Police responded to a report of a serious incident just after 12.30pm on Sunday 30 March and found the body of a deceased woman in a property along St Michael’s Road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman has not been identified and, consequently, her next of kin have not yet been made aware. The Coroner has been notified.
A man has been detained and is helping police with their enquires.
Detective Inspector Stewart Balmer, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “A murder investigation has been launched and is in its early stages.
“If anyone has any information about this incident I urge them to call Dorset Police at the earliest possible opportunity.”
A cordon was established and a section of St Michael’s Road, near Purbeck Road, was closed.
