Music, fun and fireworks at Poole’s Summer Breeze
Events & Entertainment, Poole | Posted on July 20th, 2017 |
Six Thursdays of free music, family entertainment and fireworks will be taking place on Poole Quay from 27 July, overlooking the harbour as Dorset’s longest-running summer firework display returns.
As the sun sets, you can get ready to party on Poole Quay with bands every week ranging from talented up and coming artists to the best local performers. From rock, pop and soul to 40s & 50s swing, there will be music to suit every taste and the final night of the season will see the return of well-known musician Mungo Jerry on 31 August.
Sponsored by Tower Park-based motor dealership Breeze Volkswagen, the free family event is part of Poole’s summer celebration and brings six weeks of party action, bands and street entertainers to Poole Quay before ending with a firework display over the harbour at 10pm every Thursday evening until the end of August.
As well as bands every week there will be street entertainers along the quay performing all sorts of tricks and skills to keep both adults and kids amused.
Paul Dredge, acting chair of Poole Tourism Partnership, said, “Breeze Volkswagen’s sponsorship together with the support of Poole Quay Businesses has meant visitors and residents have been able to enjoy an outstanding programme of free events every summer in Poole for many years. Summer Breeze is synonymous with Poole’s reputation as a holiday destination and I would personally like to thank John Corderoy for his tremendous support and commitment to the event, to the town and the local community.”
Poole Quay will be closed to vehicles for the event from 6pm.
