New CCTV cameras in Bournemouth to tackle anti-social behaviour
The eight areas which have been directly affected by crime include Christchurch Road in both Boscombe and Pokesdown and Southbourne Grove.
Additional CCTV cameras are to be installed in eight areas in Bournemouth which have been directly affected by crime.
They include Christchurch Road in Boscombe, Christchurch Road in Pokesdown and Southbourne Grove.
Following a successful bid to the Home Office’s Safer Streets Fund, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset allocated funding for the cameras to BCP Council.
Cllr May Haines, portfolio holder for Community Safety commented, “We want to ensure that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole is a safe place to live in, work in and visit, and one of the ways we can achieve this and bring back a sense of pride in our place, is by eradicating anti-social behaviour. This is hugely important for us and one that we’re committed to achieving through our Cleaner, Greener, Safer campaign, so I’m delighted that we’ve been awarded funding for these additional CCTV cameras.”
