Immerse Medical from Poole and SafeWise Bournemouth have joined forces to offer a new first aid training experience which they claim is unique in the region.
Course participants will be exposed to real life scenarios in the safe and immersive setting of SafeWise Bournemouth, leading to increased preparedness and retention of skills and knowledge.
SafeWise’s learning village includes a fully working two storey house, road with a bus and other vehicles, train and station, park, GP surgery, real Co-op shop, beach, office and much more.
Martin Hyland, Managing Director of Immerse Medical, said: “Most First Aid training takes place in an office, conference room or community hall, but SafeWise Bournemouth will provide participants with an engaging, realistic and challenging setting to learn in.
“It will help those taking part remember the training and help them be ready to put the skills they have learnt into practice just when they need to.”
Martin is a qualified and experienced clinical practitioner, including stints working as Emergency Department Charge Nurse and an Education Lead at Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
One-day and three-day First Aid for Work courses at SafeWise are available on dates in March and April, leading to an accredited qualification which is fully regulated by QualSafe.
SafeWise Bournemouth Manager Elise St.Hill said: “We believe this is a unique offering and an innovative way to deliver memorable and engaging First Aid training for businesses or other organisations.
“Using SafeWise Bournemouth scenarios makes the learning experience much more authentic, and we already welcome students on university paramedic courses from as far afield as London, as well as ambulance services for training purposes,” she added.
One day training takes place on 15 March or 3 April and costs £89 +VAT. Three day training takes place on 3 – 5 April and costs £209 +VAT.
