Until its new headquarters is ready, the Friends of the New Forest Airfields is out and about on the road taking the story of the airfields to the public. On Sunday, 18 October, the Friends will be in the Ann Rose room at the Greyfriars Community Centre, 44 Christchurch Rd, Ringwood.
This will be a free to enter open day combining displays featuring local aviation history, a fund raising table and members of the Friends’ aviation history team who will be there for a drop-in session where they will try to answer any local aviation history questions that visitors might have. The exhibition opens from 10.30am-3.30pm
The Friends of the New Forest Airfields can be contacted on 01425 674516, or email via fonfa2010@gmail.com.
Starting this month, the Friends will start to move into their new New Forest Airfields’ Education Centre between Sopley and Bransgore. It is hoped it will be ready for regular public open days by spring.
