With just days to go until the first New Forest Arts Festival starts this weekend, around 60 guests attended the festival launch yesterday (7 June) and had a chance to meet some of the artists.
The launch took place at the unusual Treehouse Study Centre at Beaulieu, kindly supplied by the Countryside Education Trust and Beaulieu Estate, and was attended by artists, community and business leaders.
The Festival sees more than 40 events taking place around the New Forest National Park over two weeks from11- 26 June, ranging from music and painting to poetry, performance and film. There are lots of opportunities to take part and many events are free.
New Forest National Park Authority communications manager Hilary Makin said, “We’re joining together over two weeks from this weekend to invite everyone to find out more about the New Forest landscape, through culture and the arts.
“The launch was a fantastic showcase of what is to come with theatre, music and spectacular artwork on display.
“It is great to see the creative community coming together and we hope as many people as possible will join us at the Arts Festival.”
