New funding available for voluntary organisations in Dorset
Organisations that support the needs of vulnerable people in the community are invited to apply for grants of between £5,000 and £10,000.
Social, voluntary and community organisations in Dorset are invited to apply for funding from Dorset Council’s Organisational Support Revenue Fund (OSRF).
Grants of between £5,000 and £10,000 for running costs are available for organisations that support the needs of vulnerable people in the community and provide activities and emergency, health and social care provision.
Cllr Laura Miller, Dorset Council portfolio holder for Customer and Community Services, said: “The hard work and dedication of individuals, volunteers and community groups in Dorset is immense, and the projects and events that we fund make such a real difference to people’s lives.
“We look forward to receiving applications from a wide range of organisations.”
People First Dorset received an organisational revenue support grant last year for £16,500 over three years.
Laura Kerr, manager, said: “The funding has enabled us to continue working alongside adults with learning disabilities, developing welcoming and inclusive activities in their local community, and offering a variety of interventions which help to give beneficiaries a voice, to stay safe and become more confident.
“One of our projects will promote better employment opportunities for people with learning difficulties and build strong support networks they can access.”
All applicants must demonstrate how they meet at least one of Dorset Council’s corporate priorities in their application and show how their work provides support to projects that focus on marginalised and disadvantaged people.
Applications must be submitted on the council’s online application form. Further details including eligibility, exclusions, funding criteria, closing dates and guidance on completing your online application form can be found on the council’s website.
If you require any further information before applying, please contact a member of the team on communities@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk
All applications must be received by Friday 1 April and awards will be made on 20 April.
