Opened in the same year as The Queen acceded to the throne, the charity attraction has had a number of celebrations.
The service, which is run by Royal Voluntary Service, will bring books to people across Dorset who can no longer get to a library.
The deadline for entries to the Dorset Art Prize competition – with the theme ‘Messages’– is 15 July and it is open to children and adults.
Restoration and conservation work on two historically significant buildings on the Poole Museum site has begun.
It was a busy extended weekend (2-5 June) with street parties galore, picnics, lighting of beacons, entertainment and events as the public marked the Queen’s 70-year reign.
