St Martin’s School children are celebrating after getting road safety markings outside their school for the first time in over 100 years.

An appeal for 102 cards for Stan Chapman’s 102nd birthday led to him receiving 382 cards, thanks to effort from Ferndown pupils.

As well as the chance to visit 19 gardens, visitors were able to enjoy the fairy trail at Witchampton Church of England First School.

Students have created artworks for their schoolground drains as part of a project raising awareness about ocean pollution.

This year’s Broadstone Middle School fun run raised £13,000, which will benefit charities and the school.
