An urgent ‘Save Our Service’ appeal to help the award-winning Swanage Railway survive in the wake of the economic effects of coronavirus has celebrated reaching £261,809, but more funds are needed.

The public can now donate by text to the Swanage Railway’s £360,000 ‘Save Our Service’ appeal which has so far raised £136,168 to help the award-winning heritage line survive in the wake of the economic effects of coronavirus.
The vital service, which links Sandbanks in Poole to Shell Bay in Studland near Swanage, that carries vehicles and foot passengers is not anticipated to return until October.
