Online gigs raise vital funds for Diverse Abilities
Diverse Abilities, like so many other charities in Dorset, has had to come up with alternative ways to raise funds following the cancellation of a raft of its fundraising events due to government guidelines.
The charity has now launched a Sing to Raise campaign.
The first of the livestream series took place on Facebook on Friday 1 May, featuring local performer Gecko and The Bee, and raised more than £100 for Dorset’s disability charity.
Upcoming Diverse Abilities’ Sing to Raise shows include:
- David Mein Music, Friday 8 May, 3pm
- Lucas Hardy, Friday 22 May, 7pm
- Luke Dubyah, Friday 29 May, 7pm
Emma Bovey, fundraising manager at Diverse Abilities, said, “We are thrilled that the first of our Facebook live stream events was such a great success. It’s a difficult time for charities across the nation, with an increased demand on services but a reduced capacity to fundraise, we’re taking stock of all our usual programming and seeing where we can make things work – and we’ve got a few exciting plans in the pipeline too.”
