Outstanding Results at Ferndown Upper
After receiving the highest A-levels in Dorset last year (combined A-level and Applied General value added), Ferndown Upper performed even better this year.

Students who did particularly well include:
· Charlie Wreglesworth-Rendell: Maths A, Chemistry A, and Physics A, who will be reading Engineering at Exeter.
· Laura Jones: Maths A, Business A, Psychology A, who has decided to further her studies on an accounting apprenticeship with Francis Clark.

These results mean that Ferndown’s government Value Added score is a superb +0.15, which should again place the school high on the government’s performance tables, when they are released in January.
Headteacher Philip Jones said, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank both the students and their teachers for all of their hard work and dedication. These results demonstrate that Ferndown Upper’s students are definitely leading the way. We were also very pleased with the results for our STEM subjects, and our Creative Arts results were again superb, with the highlight being four A* and 4 A grades from a cohort of 12 students. Other standout subjects were our MFL provision, Sociology (for the second year in a row), Textiles, Business, HSC and Travel, where all of the students excelled. Our vocational subjects also performed very highly (Sport, Media and IT), scoring a Value Added score of +0.80, which means every student performed almost a grade better than predicted by the government. May I take this opportunity to wish all of our students all the very best for the future.”
