Overnight road closures on Wessex Way
The cleaning works will take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 August from the Cooper Dean flyover to the County Gates.
The verges along Wessex Way are going to be tidied up with overnight works due to take place on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 August from the Cooper Dean flyover to the County Gates.
BCP Council will be cutting back the grass verges, clearing gullies as well as the central reservation, picking up litter and undertaking other essential highways maintenance.
The work will take place overnight for seven hours on both nights to minimise disruption to traffic, with the dual carriageway closed from 8.30pm depending on traffic counts. This will allow the teams to undertake the work thoroughly.
On Monday 16 August, there will be a total road closure in place from County Gates to Springbourne and the following night, the total road closure will be from Springbourne to the Cooper Dean Flyover. All relevant diversions will be in place.
Cllr Mark Anderson, portfolio holder for Environment, Cleansing and Waste said: “This work is taking place on one of the main access routes for residents and visitors and will significantly contribute to making our roads even better and safer for everyone living, working and visiting us.
“We want the BCP area to be world class – one of the best coastal places in the world in which to live, work, invest and play and through our Cleaner, Greener, Safer campaign, installing a sense of pride in our place amongst residents by undertaking work such as this, is important to make that happen.”
