Congratulations also go to Rebecca Hart who has won a university sponsorship with Price Waterhouse Coopers, and 13 Canfordians have been awarded places on the highly competitive JP Morgan summer placement programme.
Michael Doherty, Head of Careers, commented, “Once again we are seeing a very high percentage of offers to top universities in the UK and continuing success in our applications to the US. Competition for places on highly sought-after courses at these institutions continues to be very tough. For a successful interview and application, careful research and preparation is a prerequisite and this is where Canford adds real value. As ever there have been a small number of unexpected disappointments but overall we are delighted with the results achieved. We are also seeing an increase in successful university sponsorships and in placements with top corporations and we will continue to develop these links both at home and abroad. Our online mentoring network of Old Canfordians and parents is also providing a valuable resource in opening doors to career opportunities in a wide range of sectors.”
Headmaster Ben Vessey added, “We are extremely proud of all our impending Upper Sixth leavers and the efforts they have put in so far to ensure their futures are as bright, exciting and open to opportunity as possible. Our main aim is to ensure that all Canfordians progress purposefully and fruitfully beyond Canford and it is critical that those next steps are taken along the right path for each individual.”
