Parley Golf Centre is the first course in the country to make use of a brand new type of specialist top dressing that will further improve the playing experience.
The product was developed by Eco, also based in Parley, Dorset, and is designed for use on the fairways and the tees.
Already the course has brought in turf that helps the divots repair themselves and allied with the new dressing the surface will become even better to play on.
Top Dressing is a high quality blend of fine compost and washed sand, which has been certificated by United States Golf Association (USGA). It is said to stimulate new root and shoot growth, maximise seed germination, increase water retention, improve soil structure, reduce the likelihood of disease and create the uniformity of grass in colour and texture.
The dressing has been in development for some time at Eco, and Parley Golf Centre greenkeeper Ian Nobel is delighted with it.
Charlotte Haswell from Eco said: “Parley was the first course to receive delivery of Top Dressing, which is becoming extremely popular.
“It really is flying out now to golf clubs across the country. It’s been developed by ourselves and was officially launched in January.
“It uses our own compost which increases the organic content and it has a host of benefits that greenkeepers and players will appreciate.”
