Pedestrian dies following collision in Poole
Police are very keen to hear from any witnesses, particularly the driver of a white Volkswagen Polo who stopped at the scene.
A 41-year-old Poole man has been arrested, but released under investigation, following the death of a 32-year-old male pedestrian in Parkstone.
Dorset Police received a report at 5.35pm on Sunday 13 February of a collision near to the junction of Station Road and Church Road in Ashley Cross.
The pedestrian from Southampton suffered serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment but very sadly died in hospital on Wednesday 16 February.
Enquiries by officers indicate the collision also involved a silver Land Rover Freelander and a grey Nissan Pulsar.
A 79-year-old man from Poole is also assisting with enquiries and has attended for a voluntary police interview.
Sergeant Jay Griffin, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died at this time and we owe it to them to carry out a full investigation to establish exactly what happened.
“I would continue to appeal for any witnesses or anyone who may have captured anything relevant on dashcam footage to please contact us.
“We are still keen to speak to a potential witness who was driving a white hatchback, believed to be a Volkswagen Polo that stopped to speak to another motorist at the scene.”
