Pedestrian dies in Poole bus collision

A local man in his 40s died on Saturday 11 June, following a collision with a bus the day before.
Dorset Police received a report at 2.28pm on Friday 10 June of a collision in Turlin Road involving a single decker bus and a pedestrian.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and the pedestrian was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for treatment to serious injuries. Road closures were put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the collision scene to take place.
Sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died at this extremely difficult time for them.
“We owe it to them to establish the full circumstances of what happened and our investigation into this collision remains ongoing.
“We are carrying out a detailed investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I would urge any witnesses who have not already spoken to police to please make contact with us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured anything on dashcam footage to assist our enquiries.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures.”
