Pedestrian seriously injured in Wimborne collision

A woman has suffered potentially life-changing injuries following a collision on Hanham Road in Wimborne.
Dorset Police received a report at 8.35am on Sunday 21 November of the incident involving a red Peugeot 207 and a pedestrian.
Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, with the woman who was taken to hospital for treatment believed to be in a serious condition.
Road closures were put in place and the road reopened at around 4.30pm.
Sergeant Mark Scammell, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“I would urge any witnesses, or anyone who may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage, to please come forward if you have not already spoken to police.
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding during the road closures, which were absolutely necessary to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident and for an examination of the scene to be carried out.”
