Plenty of action at The Dorset County Show
The event, which celebrates rural life in the county, takes place in Dorchester on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September.

The Dorset County Show, which opens its gates in Dorchester on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 September, promises an action-packed celebration of rural life with an exciting line up of attractions.
There will be huge jumps, precision riding, roll stunts and jaw-dropping skills. Paul Hannam Stunt Show makes its debut, jumping into the Main Ring across the weekend. This skilled motorbike rider brings the extreme to the Dorset County Show.
The new Music Stage will be showcasing local Dorset Artists and it extends into the evening on Saturday 6 September.
James Cox, the Dorset County Show organiser said: “Atkinson Action Horses were a highlight of 2024; we are simply thrilled to welcome them back for a second year.”
At the very heart of the show remains agriculture, with the region’s finest livestock on display in competitive classes across cattle, sheep, pigs, goats – and for the second time, alpacas.
Other highlights include Dorset’s Largest Larder – the Food Hall filled to the apex with treats. There is also a Fun Dog Show, free Tomahawk Throwing with Budden’s Activity Centre, Blacksmiths Forge, Heavy Horse Village, milking demonstrations and so much more to explore across the Showground.
