Tasers were deployed during the arrest of two men in Bournemouth in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 12 June).
A silver VW Passat failed to stop for officers along Wallisdown Road in Bournemouth at 12.42am and immediately after, this vehicle collided with a yellow Skoda in Edgehill Road. The driver of the Skoda and the female passenger received minor injuries and the ambulance service attended.
The impact of the collision and subsequent debris also damaged street furniture, two vehicles and a nearby house.
A 24-year-old Ferndown man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences, taking a motor vehicle without consent and assaulting a police officer and a 23-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of taking a motor vehicle without consent. Both men are currently assisting officers with their enquiries.
Two officers sustained injuries during the incident.
Specialist operational officers were called to the scene to assist in the investigation of the alleged offences. Bournemouth CID will continue with their investigation this morning. Safer Neighbourhood officers are patrolling the area to reassure the public. Further enquiries are being made in the locality this morning.
