Polls open across Dorset for election day
Polling stations across the country are now open for residents to cast their votes in the General Election.
Polling stations across Dorset have been open since 7am for residents to cast their votes in the UK General Election.
Residents have until 10pm to vote.
This year, voters must bring photo ID with them to prove their identity in order to be able to vote. This could be a driving licence, passport, Blue Badge, or a travel pass. A full list of accepted ID is available here.
You can see the full list of candidates standing in constituencies across Dorset here.
The election exit poll will be released around 10pm, giving an indication of the expected results from the vote. The results for individual seats will trickle out overnight and through the early hours of the morning, so we won’t know the full results – and who will be the next Government – until tomorrow.
