Pooches help pupils with their learning in Parley
Having received their Parley Pooches, the First School pupils took part in a writing competition with the stories going to Poole Hospital.
Every child at Parley First School received a Parley Pooch during lockdown to help with their learning and to give them a hug.
The idea, which came from the Parents of Parley support group was a real hit with the young pupils.
So much so that David Graves, deputy headteacher and English lead at the school decided to hold a writing competition for the pupils.
He subsequently contacted Poole Hospital Children’s Unit to see if they would like the stories, and they were delighted to accept.
Mr Graves said: “The children absolutely loved the Parley Pooches, all of which have the name on their t-shirts. It has really given the pupils a lift.”
