Ringwood school to get colourful with charity fundraiser
Students at Ringwood School will take part in a Colour Run on Thursday 17 July.

Students at Ringwood School are getting ready to burst into colour during a charity fun run next month.
On Thursday 17 July, pupils and teachers will take part in a Colour Run to raise funds for brand-new student changing rooms.
Nearly 1,000 students and 200 staff members will hit the 3.5-mile route around Ringwood, running or walking their way through five dazzling colour stations where they’ll be showered with bursts of brightly coloured powder. By the finish line, participants will be covered head to toe in a rainbow of happiness.
The Colour Run will use non-toxic, eco-friendly powder that is easily brushed off or washed away by rain – although the school hope much of it will stay on the participants as colourful mementos of the day. A dedicated clean-up team will ensure that the event leaves behind nothing but “colourful footprints”.
Sam Coombes, operations manager at Ringwood School, said: “Following the success of our event in 2022, we’re thrilled to bring the Colour Run back to Ringwood this year.
“It’s a fantastic way to unite our school community, promote fitness and fun, and raise funds for much-needed improvements to changing facilities for our students.”
This year’s event is supported by Anytime Fitness, who will provide finisher medals for all participants and help to lead high-energy warm-up sessions before each wave of runners takes off. Club manager Elliot Burton said: “We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic event for the community in Ringwood. Promoting physical activity and healthy wellbeing is the cornerstone of our ethos at Anytime Fitness Ringwood and we can’t wait to see everyone take part.”
The school is calling on the wider community for support in the form of marshals to help line the route, ensuring the safety of students and cheering them on along the way. Those interested in volunteering can contact scoombes@ringwood.hants.sch.uk for more information.
