Poole Goes Vintage on the Quay in July
The event, which will feature vintage fashion stalls, classic car displays and live retro music takes place on 9 and 10 July.
Start to plan your outfit for Poole Goes Vintage, which is coming to Poole Quay on 9 and 10 July. Featuring vintage traders and live music playing the sounds of the 1940s, 1960s and everything in between, the event is a must for locals and visitors alike. It is managed by Stir Events in partnership with BCP Council with funding from Festival Coast Live.
The festival will showcase a broad range and quality of live music, vintage themed workshops and classic car displays. It will include performances from Rhythm Slicks, Rockin’ The Joint, Little Dave and The Sun Sessions, Retro Rita and DJ Mr D with Retro Grooves spinning the disks at the vinyl booth.
The Vintage Party at Poole Quay Hotel, will feature Miss Annie and The Midnight Shift along with Mr D! DJ Dave Norrell, with tickets available through Eventbrite.
Mandy Polkey, managing director of Stir Events, said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting this vintage spectacular on Poole Quay this July; it’s such a wonderful opportunity for locals, visitors, and the business community to come together and celebrate Poole and all things vintage, a great day out for everyone.”
Attendees can enjoy lessons from Jitterbug Jive, the Bournemouth Lindy Hop Club with a Vintage Fashion Show hosted across both days. The family friendly event boasts fairground rides, stalls and face painting for children as well as vintage traders selling vintage clothing, jewellery and gifts. Motor enthusiasts can enjoy the Classic Car Exhibition and Show and Shine Competition with cars managed by South Coast Cruisers.
Mandy said: “Everyone’s encouraged to get involved, have fun, get dancing, and dress up, there’s even a competition and a prize for the best dressed vintage king and queen, and we can’t wait to see everyone Lindy Hopping and looking their best.”
