Poole Central Library is holding a showcase event this half term when new and existing customers can find out more about the wide range of library services on offer.
On Thursday 2 June between 10am to midday, children, families and adults will be able to take part in a range of free activities including badge making, crafts and Lego. There will be computer coding for children, details about homework clubs and rhyme-time sessions for pre-school children.
Young people can find out about volunteering opportunities. The library service is now recruiting for volunteers aged 13-25 to help run this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, ‘The Big Friendly Read’ which celebrates Roald Dahl’s centenary.
Adults can learn more about Jobs Hubs, business and learning offers, see the 3D printer in action, join in a reading group or enjoy some adult colouring and games.
As well as showcasing the latest books, library staff have chosen their favourite books and put together a collection of recommended reads. A memory wall has been created to add favourite titles.
Take part in a book hunt organised by library staff. Books donated by customers will be distributed in places close to the library. Before you take the book home to enjoy, take it into the Central Library and enter into a competition to win a Poole Libraries’ goody bag. Everyone who borrows a book during the open morning will have the chance to win a goody bag too.
