Poole Lifeboat Station virtual Open Week
Although all Poole Lifeboat Station’s usual fundraising activities have been cancelled and the station and Old Lifeboat Museum is closed to visitors as a result of the pandemic, you can still take part in the virtual Open Week which runs until 2 August.
In 2019 the charity raised £8,000 during Lifeboat Week, but sadly this year there is a huge void in funds for this organisation, which is not government funded with the boats being manned by volunteers.
Events planned this week include a virtual dog show; garden games; shanty singers; chats with the crew; a virtual station tour; sea safety videos to show you how to check your lifejacket and put out a Mayday call; the knot challenge and quizzes.
