Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a serious injury road traffic collision in Poole.
It happened at around 10.15pm on Sunday 22 February on Wimborne Road at the junction of Bailey Crescent, close to Stanley Green Road.
A blue Peugeot 206 was travelling along Wimborne Road when it was in collision with a 28-year-old female pedestrian.
The woman, from Poole, sustained serious life-threatening injuries and is being treated at Southampton Hospital. Her next of kin have been informed.
The road was closed for seven hours while expert collision investigators examined the scene.
Police Sergeant Nikki Burt, of Dorset Police’s Traffic Unit, said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the pedestrian or vehicle prior to the incident to please call me.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
A 25-year-old man from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
