Detectives are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward following a robbery at a Poole store.
It happened at around 7am today, (Tuesday 11 August), when two men armed with kitchen knives entered McColl’s convenience store in Blandford Road.
The offenders threatened members of staff and demanded they opened the safe.
They made off with a quantity of cash and a large amount of cigarettes.
No one was physically injured.
Officers, including armed response officers, attended the scene and carried out a thorough search of the area. No one was found.
The first offender is described as white, five feet eight inches tall, of slight build and was wearing a white woollen bobble hat with Ping written on it, a black hooded jacket with silver studs and dark clothes. His face was covered with a white scarf.
The second offender is described as white, five feet ten inches tall and wearing a blue beanie hat, blue jumper with a white motif on the left, dark blue jeans and black trainers with red patches on them.
They were carrying a camouflage army-style bag and a black dustbin bag and left through the back of the shop toward Manton Road.
Detective Inspector Fiona Gaffney, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for staff.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw the offenders either entering or leaving the store or saw two men matching the description given to call me urgently.
“All calls will be treated in strict confidence.”
