A teenager was stabbed on Upton Road at the junction with Pergin Crescent, Creekmoor at 1am today (Friday, 26 September).
The 16-year-old local boy was walking with a friend along Upton Road toward Creekmoor when a man on a pushbike, riding in the opposite direction, bumped into the kerb alongside them. He shouted at the victim, got off his bike and kicked him. The offender then produced a knife and held it against the teenager’s neck stabbing him him in the collar bone/shoulder area when the boy tried to move away. He then got on his bike and rode away toward the Tesco store at Fleetsbridge.
The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury which required hospital treatment.
Detective Sergeant Julie Dransfield, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: “This was a frightening and un-provoked attack on a young lad. It was fortunate he was not more seriously injured.
“We only have a basic description at this stage and I am appealing for witnesses or anyone with more information to come forward urgently.”
The offender is described as a white man, possibly in his 40s, of average build wearing a black hooded top and black jogging bottoms. He may have been wearing a black baseball cap under the hood of his jacket that was pulled up over his head. He was riding a dark coloured mountain bike.
No one has been arrested.
