Popular agriculture show set to return to Dorset
The Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show, an annual celebration of rural life, will return on 13 and 14 August.

The organisers of a much-loved annual agriculture show that celebrates rural life have announced the dates for its 2025 return.
The Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show will be held once again on 13 and 14 August at the Turnpike Showground in Motcombe, Dorset.
Visitors to the show can expect to see a line-up of stunning attractions including livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits, equestrian events, vintage machinery and cars, charming steam engines, live bands, a funfair and many other exciting attractions.
Last year’s event featured a Shetland pony race, the animal trainer Joseph Fossett and his Amazing Camels, and a livestock competition, featuring an array of rare-breed cattle, sheep and heavy horses, with sheep handlers as young as five showing off their flock.
The main ring attractions for this year’s event will soon be announced.
Organiser Cat Harris and her team are already busy behind the scenes planning this year’s two-day event. Harris said: “Last year, the racing camels were a huge hit, and we will soon be revealing the exciting line-up for 2025. Watch this space to find out what animals may be coming to the Turnpike Showground this year!”
The show raises funds for the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society to help support farming and the countryside.
Tickets are on sale now, with one-day admission for adults costing £19 and family tickets (two adults and two children) costing £43. Children under five go free. Two-day tickets are also available.
The show welcomes dogs on leads. Mobility scooters are available for hire on the day, and there will be free parking and lots of picnic areas.
