Staff and residents at a Dorset care home have said a fond farewell to a popular colleague.
Social carer Maureen Ross has retired after 14 years at Colten Care’s Avon Cliff home in Bournemouth including 10 as activity organiser.
Maureen, who lives in Boscombe, was presented with a specially baked cake marking her 74th birthday as well as flowers and other gifts.
“I’m going to miss everyone a lot, especially the residents. I’ve enjoyed my time here,” said Maureen who spent 21 years as Saga Holidays’ Resort Manager in Bournemouth before joining Colten Care.
She added: “I love hearing the stories from residents about their lives. They often have fascinating tales to tell.”
Dawn Watson, Activity Organiser, said Maureen was leaving with everyone’s best wishes.
“She’s been a mentor to me and will be much missed. We’re all very sorry to see Maureen go but wish her a happy and healthy retirement,” said Dawn.
