The Dorset Polo Festival, which has been running since 2017, is a one-day event offering attendees from Dorset and beyond the opportunity to watch exhilarating polo matches, take part in a variety of enjoyable family-friendly activities and enjoy a range of local trade stands with plenty of artisan food and drink.

Rob Brockett of Dorset Polo Club said, “We’re delighted to bring the Dorset Polo Festival back for 2020. Based on the success of last year’s event, we’re planning even bigger and better events and activities to delight visitors of all ages. To accompany the excitement and thrills of the polo matches, there’ll be a range of fun activities for all the family and tempting food and drink offerings, to showcase the best of Dorset.

“The hugely popular fun dog show will also be returning for 2020, offering a range of classes for all shapes and sizes. Even if your family pet doesn’t have an impressive pedigree, there’ll be plenty of opportunities for them to shine!”

Founded in 2011, the Dorset Polo Club provides sociable and competitive polo for all abilities. It holds over 600 polo lessons per year and offers members the opportunity to play regular chukkas in a beautiful setting overlooking Poole Harbour. A new arena extends the polo season across the entire calendar year. Run by Jemima and Rob Brockett, whose combined experience playing and working in polo amounts to 42 years, the club also offers corporate and team building days as well as bespoke packages for unique celebrations.

Rob added, “The Dorset Polo Festival was established to bring the excitement of polo to the attention of a wider audience. It’s a superb, fast-paced sport which is great fun to play and just as much fun to watch. The beauty of polo is that is allows players to compete on a level playing field, regardless of age or gender, which is something which rarely happens in other sports. The festival aims to illustrate that polo can be accessible to everyone. If you ride, you’ll love to play; if you don’t, we can teach you, and in any event it’s a thrilling spectator sport which appeals to all ages and backgrounds. We welcome anyone who is keen to come along and have a go.”
