The wife of missing Poole man David Horsford is appealing for the public’s help to find him almost two weeks after he disappeared.
David, 67 and of Samson Road, left his home at around 7.30am on Saturday 16 April 2016 after telling his wife Marguerite he was going for a short walk. He has not been seen or heard from since.
Officers searched different parts of Poole and the surrounding area in the days after he went missing in a bid to find him. These searches have now concluded but enquiries are still continuing as to David’s whereabouts.
David is white, five feet eleven inches tall, of slim build and was wearing a black Berghaus jacket and green Craghoppers trousers.
Marguerite Horsford said: “David had been suffering from an extreme lack of sleep when he left home that day and was not in the right frame of mind.
“I am urging everyone to share this appeal. There might be someone who has been away on holiday and has not seen our messages and might be able to shed some light on where David might be.
“I would like to thank all our friends and family and the police and volunteers for all their help over the last two weeks. Your support has been amazing.
“If David sees this message, I would like to say – I am doing really well and I just want to get you home so we can go on that train trip I owe you.”
Marguerite said she and David, a retired electrician, have been married for 44 years.
“David is a very popular chap and has lots of friends who love him for his jolly personality. He is the person that people go to and he just listens and helps them. That’s the sort of person he is.”
Inspector Neil Wright, of Dorset Police, said: “David’s disappearance is completely out of character and we remain extremely concerned for him.
“We are releasing more photos of David in the hope that it might jog someone’s memory, although he has lost around two stones in recent months. I would urge anyone who has seen David or knows where he is, to please call Dorset Police immediately.
“David – your friends and family are very worried about you and just want to know you are safe.”
Anyone with any information or knowledge as to David’s whereabouts should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 16:145.
