Plans for the new junior school at Fourways in Poole are being put on display to members of the public at a drop-in information event on Wednesday 16 April.
With a total capacity of 360 pupils aged 7 to 11 (Years 3 to 6), the new school will help meet the growing need for Key Stage 2 places in the central Poole area, as increased numbers of children currently in Key Stage 1 move through the system. The school is expected to open in September 2015.
Local residents are being asked to get involved at this early stage so their views can be taken into account as the designs develop.
The event will take place at the Civic Centre between 2-7pm on Wednesday 16 April. Access to the event can be gained through the Members’ Entrance opposite the Poole Park gates.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, the information will also be available online after the event www.boroughofpoole.com/schoolorganisation, with a comments form to download and return. Responses need to be received by 22 April 2014.
The new school will be an Academy sponsored by The Aspirations Academy Trust (AAT). Council officers, the architects, contractor and AAT representatives will be available to answer questions.
A second event will be held on Wednesday 30 April, 2-7pm at the Civic Centre, to show how designs have developed. Feedback from both events will be considered before a planning application is submitted in May 2014.
If the planning application is approved, construction will start on site in summer 2014.
