Pupils at Buckholme Towers School and Nursery in Lower Parkstone, Poole got festive at this year’s Tree of Lights ceremony hosted by Lewis-Manning Hospice on Friday November 29.
The school choir sang Christmas carols ‘O Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘I Saw Three Ships’ as part of the memorial event at Ashley Cross Green.
Fiona Castle, widow of entertainer Roy and patron of the hospice’s breathlessness clinic, hosted the evening and attendees dedicated lights on a Christmas tree as a way to remember loved ones and as a symbol of hope for the future.
Iain Robertson, headmaster said: “We were delighted to get involved with such a special community event for Lewis-Manning Hospice and it was a great turn out.”
The event which was sponsored by Poole Chamber of Commerce included music from the Poole Borough Band and mince pies and mulled wine donated by Patrick’s Restaurant, Bar and Event Catering.
