QE School collects boxes of Christmas goodies for Wimborne Food Bank
Savoury snacks, cakes, mince pies and boxes of chocolates filled five large boxes to be donated to the food bank.
Recipients of parcels from Wimborne Food Bank will be able to enjoy some festive foods this Christmas thanks to pupils from Queen Elizabeth’s School.
Staff and students donated goodies including savoury snacks, cakes, mince pies, boxes of chocolates and more, filling five large boxes.
The school, which is part of Initio Learning Trust, will give the gathered groceries to Wimborne food bank where they will be used in hampers for families in need this Christmas.
Local brewery Hall and Woodhouse also contributed by donating £250 worth of chocolates and sweets.
Thomas Neill, headteacher at Queen Elizabeth’s School, said: “We are very pleased to be able to play our part as a school in supporting those families who are struggling this Christmas.
“As a Church of England school, we are rooted in our Christian faith and we hope this gesture reflects our values of community, respect, kindness and love.
“I would like to thank all our QE families for their generosity and support of this collection.”
